Goat Thing of the Day: Goat Dressing and Fainting Goats

Hello and welcome to Goat Thing of the Day, a weekly series that wiggles, giggles, and sha-ziggles.

My sister has been sending me various goat things that she captures with her cell phone such as this recent shot of Daisy.

I don’t know what it is about you people that compels you to stop and take a picture of goaty things and then send them to me, but do keep it up.

Goat Dressing

Have you heard of this? Michelle from Goat Berries informed me of an event at rodeos called “goat dressing” where you chase a goat down and put panties on it. Panties!

What shocks me is that you people didn’t tell me about this sooner. This event positively REEKS of opportunity in the cross-promo department with Nanny Goats in Panties, only I’m not sure what it is, so if you can think of something, please tell me. Or if you know someone from the IGRA, hook me up, man!

Goats on TV

Meanwhile, back on the boob tube, fainting goats continue to be a fascination. Here’s a clip from Mythbusters sent in by Sharon of Countrynmore (whose most recent posts also has goats).

    Fainting goats make me laugh so hard. My husband was supposed to take me to see fainting goats as a wedding present. That was two years ago. Time to remind him!

    Goats are cute, I guess, now that I’ve gotten over that one childhood incident at Happy Hollow when a goat was eating my sweatshirt. I realize how valuable they are in cleaning up fire hazard bushes and there’s always goat cheese.

    Yes, I think a lot of people are changing the way they view goats nowadays, at least here in the states. It seems like everyone else in the world was ahead of us on that one.

    I have a friend who is a straight cowboy who competed for years in the Gay rodeo because he said the purses were bigger.
