Day 2: Today’s photo challenge theme is “fast”.
This statue outside a casino in South Lake Tahoe commemorates the Pony Express riders of the Wild West.
I must apologize for not bringing Lacy, my trusty mascot, with me to Tahoe so that I could have ensured she’d be in every photo this month. Dang. 🙁
To see the other “fast” photo challengers, go here.
I didn’t know that pony express riders were insane. He looks like he’s dismounting while that crazy-eyed horse is galloping away with all the money the rider stole from the casino. Or maybe he’s just hopping on after his thievery & the horse looks nuts because it was idling for too long.
Ha! It totally looks like a getaway horse, now that I look at it. I like the way you think, Cheryl.
I like that statue a lot, although the goat looks more like a horse. I assume it’s a Mongolian breed that I’m not familiar with. I also assume he’s carrying all the money that you lost to the bank.
Good choice for fast, Margaret!
Thanks! I’ve never heard of a Mongolian Goat. Is that a hybrid of some sort?
I like this horse’s nostrils and the mouth. They show us he’s fast!
Beep Beep zip Bang! Oops, wrong species.
you can add lacy in next month’s 30 day challenge. 😉
What are you trying to do, kill me?
Every bit as fast as my local post office…
Uh-oh. I’m not sure what that means.
Great shot! You framed it nicely. One day they’ll be making statues of cars.
I look forward to that day, Lauren. I’m sick of driving already!
That is a very cool pic for the fast theme. Lacy could of looked cute in that picture, for sure.
Don’t make me cry for not thinking of bringing her. I could have put her up on that horse.
Ride ’em Cowgirl! Perhaps a Goat Express next?
That would be something. 🙂
Wow, you got fast AND shiny in there! GREAT shot!
Ha! I didn’t even realize.
What a cool photo. It totally creates the feeling of speed. You’re good at this stuff!
Thanks, Jayne!
I’m sure that Lacy is disappointed too. She could have shown that “pony” a trick or two!
I’m kicking myself! Or butting myself. Or something.
Perfect take on today’s theme, Margaret! XOXO
Thanks, Mel!
🙂
I agree my money always goes faster than my horses. The last horse I rode in August was the slowest horse I had ever been on. Pony Express horses were way faster. Maybe he was a retired Pony Express horse.
I wish I could claim the fast-money-casino comparison, but it was completely unintentional. Story of my life. I’ve got to start claiming that I do all sorts of clever things on purpose.
Aw, I miss Lacy.. Still, that’s a very good take on the theme, and it kinda makes me feel like going horseback riding.. 🙂
Thanks Ziva. And now I miss her too.
Which goes faster, the Pony Express riders or your money at the casino?
Exactly!
I am so glad you did not show a photo of a hooker. I was worried.
Ha! Because I’m not as quick as you, Pricilla. Also? I did not see any hookers. I wonder where all the hookers are. They’ve got to be around here somewhere.
