Goat Thing of the Day: Kringle and Bagpipes

Little Kringle appeared recently over at Pricilla’s farm. Isn’t he just the cutest?

You can find more pictures of him over at The Maaaaa of Pricilla.

Goats in the News

Goats playing musical instruments is crazy enough, but goats becoming musical instruments is a whole new level of crazy. Best to keep an eye on your goats if you don’t want them kidnapped and turned into……bagpipes?!

goat bagpipes

Thomas of 101 Things in 1001 Days told me about this (as well as Nanc of Nanc Twop), and you might be saying, “Oh sure, you’re just showing us a picture. In fact, it looks like the two of them are making out and the goat disapproves of getting caught on camera. How do we know that goat is actually a set of bagpipes?”

Perhaps the video will convince you?

Goats in Other News

Meanwhile, in Sheboygam, Wisconsin, a goat was found shivering on a snowy beach and will now enjoy a heated, mother-in-law-style two-bedroom apartment after being rescued. (Thanks, Nanc!)

  1. Well Kringle is just adorable in his beautiful red sweater, but those goat bagpipes are just creepy and gross!!
I am however very happy for Grace who is now living much better than my husband’s mother-in-law. (Yes, I know that means MY mother. She is living with my sister and BIL and their THREE daughters – HAHA – but my mother doesn’t speak to me so what do I care?!?!?)

The little goat is adorable. Will have to check out his other pics. On the other hand, not so much into the bagpipes. Don’t know what to think about a “goat” set.

I got worried for a second there – looked like my Unlce Wally after a few too many pints. But since he wasn’t playing “Scotland The Brave” I ruled that out. that’s almost as bad as the company in Scotland who produced beer and sold it inside animal carcasses –

    I wrote about it here – http://slightlysarcastic.net/2010/10/oktoberfest-the-smell-of-beer-is-in-the-air/

I’m glad to see that some animals are being taken in and taken care of instead being “used” even after they’re dead.

We will have some baby goats out at Moose’s barn sometime in the next month–I’ll have to find out exactly when, but they just moved them in the barn right next to Moose’s stall, so I’ll be keeping an eye out!! And then I’ll take pics, just for you. 🙂

    1. I would love to see those pics, Kari.

Hey guess what? I got a new camera for Christmas – a digital SLR. I may be asking you for pointers on how to use the darn thing!

The bagpipes was too much for me!! Ha! That is just plain weird!!
I am glad that goat was rescued! Lucky goat for sure!!
Now I must go and try to get this image out of my head!!
    Happy New Year hun!

Aww… I’m so glad the little shivering goat was saved although I do hope no one tries to turn her into a bagpipe. 😉

  7. Nezzy says:

Awwww, I want a Kringle!!! What a little Christmas sweetie! :o)

The goat bagpipes may haunt me forever…..

    Have a magnificently blessed day!!!

Goat bagpipes. Wrong on SO MANY levels.

    1. It seems rather morbid, doesn’t it? I mean taxidermy is already questionable, but to stuff it with hot air? Yeesh!

  9. Pricilla says:

Thank you for showing our newest addition.
The cats ran meowing for cover when I played the poor dead goat bagpipes.
The link is bad on the shivering goat post. I would like my own two bedroom apartment. Can you hook me up?

    1. Ack! THANK YOU for pointing out the broken link, Pricilla! I really appreciate that. Meanwhile everybody before you was letting the proverbial spinach stay in my teeth.

And the first two bedroom apartment that becomes available for goats that I hear about is yours.

  10. Little Kringle is too cute for words.

My dogs react to that video much in the same way I did–namely, by barking a lot and looking for a hiding place. And they’re not even watching it–that’s just their reaction to the sound.

Still, I’m so glad that you could use it for your GTotD!

    Holy smokes!!!
