Goat Thing of the Day: Can Goats Read?

This kiddo was born four days ago at Bee Haven Acres. Here he is at just one day old.

Awwwww!!
You can also see a video of him and his sister on the Bee Haven Acres post entitled Just Kidding Around. He doesn’t have a name yet – do you have any suggestions?

Can Goats Read?

Maybe. Maybe not. This photo was seen on maplec100′s Photostream on Flickr.

What a sweetheart. I might have to name him Waldo. I don't know why. Just looks like a Waldo to me. As for the “No Goats Allowed” sign — Well that's just rude!

Of course goats can read. This goat has obviously read the sign and is wondering “WHY aren't goats allowed?” and “I guess the only way to find out is by jumping this gate.”

  12. Marg says:

The baby is so cute. I was jut thinking the other day that it would be fun to have a baby goat. Wonder how long that goat read that sign before he or she jumped over. Or just plain opened the gate. Great pictures.

  13. Awwww, he's a little cutie cutie! I would name him Smiley, because even on his first day of life, he's got the cutest smile on his face! Either that or Chuckles! ;)
Am loving the cute little striped hind leg. He is adorable!

  14. He is such a cutie… I think he should be named “Little Brownie” cause I just want to eat him up!! Wait, that sounds terrible, sorry!
And I SO believe that goats can read – they are just the smartest animals in the world!

  15. Awww, so cute! I'm jealous of moms that have babies with hair, mine were all more or less bald.

  20. QueenKatherine says:

I like the name Moo…but I really think this baby is so cute, I want him to move in with me. I can deal with a goat, I promise. I just want to eat him all up! He is SOOOO cute!

They read a lot better than my 16 year old does. xx

  21. QueenKatherine says:

I like Twiggy, too – look at those darling little back legs.

    I want a goat!!!! xx

  22. Nance says:

I suggest “Caesar” for the baby goat's name; that's a Roman nose if I ever saw one!

  23. livintheblues says:

or do they just ignore the rules..:)

  24. marlaahansen says:

Oh, they can read alright. They just don't care.

  25. lauresal says:

Derwood would be a good name for baby goat or Ernest. I think the goat staring at the sign forgot his reading glasses.

  26. SinisterDan says:

    The goat is scheming…creepy.

  27. theredheadriter says:

  32. Hey Margaret, Sorry I've been missing in action lately. I'm just catching up and cracked up over the “No goats” sign. That's not a paper sign either– It looks professionally done. Jeez, someone really doesn't like goats! WTH?!?

And that sweet baby goat at the top– What a face :-)

    Have a great week,
    jj
