Goat Thing of the Day: One-Horned Prince and the Gävle Goat

Jessica of Atlanta Mother’s Guide sent in a picture of her kids.

Did you notice Prince Charming is missing something? Here, let me show you a close-up:

According to Jessica, the Prince was wasn’t dehorned the right way as a kid, so now only one grows out kind of curly.

Have you guys seen this big-ass Christmasy thing in Sweden? It’s the Gävle Goat and it’s made of straw.

    Happy New Year!

Abby was dehorned. You see how well that worked. It is not always effective. Especially with little goats. The bud burner is made for big goats so it's a guessing game for little goats.

I think Prince Charming is well, charming.

      THANKS me too!

Holy cow! That is one giant goat decoration!

I think they burn it every year and build a new one. Or maybe pranksters TRY to burn it every year – I can't remember now. I didn't employ my mad research skillz on that one. So yeah, we have Burning Man, they have Burning Goat.

Heard of straw dogs before but never ever a straw goat! Our cattle would have a heyday over that goat!

Aww he looks so cute with his one horn. Gives him character. As for Sweden, that's one heck of a goat!!

Speed Racer looks like a miniature cow and the Silver Comet reminds me of a dirty old man. Actually, all goats remind me of dirty old men but the Prince looks like a distinguished old man.

    • atlmomguide

He is TOTALLY a dirty old man! He is a grouch too! wont talk to anyone, doesn't play with the others…he just does his own thing!

      • http://www.nannygoatsinpanties.com/ Margaret (nannygoats)

Awww, I'm sure Silver Comet is just misunderstood.

  • Rose

Too bad someone burns the Gavle goat down every year. Oy.

  • atlmomguide

Those are my babies! Thanks for giving them the recognition they deserve! Ha ha hA HA

    Dear NGIP,
Just wanted to drop by and wish you the best of holidays !

Was thinking of you earlier, as there was goat cheese on the table here at the end of dinner this evening, it was delicious ! Will have to try to find out where all the cheese producing goats in France are hiding, they must be around here somewhere…

    • http://www.nannygoatsinpanties.com/ Margaret (nannygoats)

Owen!!! My Polly Voo Frawnsay friend! I would think those French would be producing cheese from everything! Have you seen their ant cheese? Mmmmmm…. ant cheese. It's a delicacy, you know. Because of the expensive ant milking equipment they have to use.

How's Prince Charming gonna schmooze the ladies with ONE horn? Poor dude…

    • http://www.nannygoatsinpanties.com/ Margaret (nannygoats)

The same way women find men who wear eye patches sexy, nanny goats will find Prince Charming sexy.

      • scott_free

Well, I was thinking of a different body part, but that works…

  • http://daisythecurlycat.blogspot.com/ Daisy

I am a little bit scairted of that gigantic goat!

    • http://www.nannygoatsinpanties.com/ Margaret (nannygoats)

Wouldn't that be cute, although nearly impossible, to get a picture of a cat going nose-to-nose with that thing?

  • http://www.thefiftyfactor.com/ Joanna Jenkins

That thing in Sweden is weird! I can only imagine how many poor kids have been dragged out there to get a picture for their annual Christmas card.

And that poor guy with one horn. Do all the other kids make fun of him.

    xo

So I guess that means Prince Charming is only half as horny as he used to be.
(BTW… nice straw goat photo, Scotty!)

  • http://wmljshewbridge.blogspot.com/ Lorie Shewbridge

I love that little Prince Charming, I think his curly horn is so adorable!! He will make some female goat really happy some day and they will live happily ever after.

As for the straw goat from Sweden… well, my mother's ancestors are from Sweden, and she is totally off her rocker, so that doesn't surprise me in the least!! Fortunately, I take more after my dad's family… :-)

Who knew that my Prince Charming would have a goatee? [giggle] :)

“Now, come nightfall, Lancelot, Galahad, and I will emerge from the giant goat, taking the Swedes completely by surprise!”

  • http://www.petersonstlouis.com loripeterson

That is a HUGE straw goat! Wow!

And his curly little horn makes him extra special! He's super cute!

  • http://www.cheripryor.blogspot.com/ Cheri

Gavle Goat has got some serious horns going on. lol!!

Prince Charming had character. I can relate to him oddly.
