Haha, love it! I am now totally sold on the Kindle. New Zealand is one of the newly annointed 100 countries, so I have to check it out. Haven't wanted to cause I'm guessing it will be uber expensive!
I shuddered at the Banana Republic folding vision…that once was me at The Gap!!!

Hey, I got a Kindle for a birthday present, too! (I love all the uses you've found for it.) May I add #11–giving it back to your spouse since he's the one who's really into it.

And my blog is available on Kindle, too! I feel like we were separated at birth. Except I'm afraid to go look at my Amazon rank now. I know I'm not going to measure up.

I don't have a kindle…but I do have an iPod nano that I use as a bookmark. Himself has asked if I'd like a kindle, and I suppose it would probably save on books in the long term, and your shameless endorsement is persuasive, but I remain sceptical. There's something about the tactile involvement of turning a page.

Oh boy, I had no idea, as in NO IDEA at all, just how popular NGIP is becoming ! That is fabulous news. I have no doubt that soon we will be seeing full page ads in the opening pages of NG (along with Rolex and Canon) for NGIP. I'm surprised NG (Nat Geo, of course) hasn't already done a feature length article on NGIP… I'm sure they are going to be contacting you soon about doing one, because NGIP is certainly a worthy geographicly, culturally, and zoologically fascinating topic… Ah yes, this was a wonderful promotional piece for NGIP, and nice that you found a little kindling wood to get the fire started, I guess that is another function Kindles could serve for…

I have been coveting a Kindle for the last year. My blog is also available on Kindle but I haven't a clue if anyone has bought it yet. I don't think I would use the kindle to actually read a book since I like the old fashioned kind but I can see it has many practical uses and I love any kind of gadget out there. I still haven't figured out my Blackberry.

That's nice, I do enjoy electronics, but for books, I prefer the 'real' thing. There's nothing like curling up with a book on the sofa with a cup of hot tea. It's just me and Agatha fighting crime. [giggle]

OMG… I am still laughing so hard that I can barely see to type for the tears coming down my eyes! You are so funny!! I have asked Santa (REPEATEDLY) for a Kindle for Christmas… I have even sent him this post so he can see how useful it would be for me. Now the ball is in his court.
I would definitely get NGIP on MY Kindle and review it with 5 stars!!! Merry Christmas!!

It says I can't get your blog on my Kindle as I live in the UK. Bummer

I had been dithering about buying an ebook reader for ages and chose the Kindle a couple of weeks ago as it is so cute (and as you point out, useful) but I can only buy from the US Kindle Store – though they do promise a UK Kindle Store at some point.

Oh thank god someone finally wrote a post like this. I really, really want one and everyone I tell asks "You want something that you can read books off of?"

Now I can print this off, carry it around, and whip it out every time someone asks me if it does anything else.
